Handcrafted, Intentional, Small Batch Botanicals
It is our intention to create the highest quality, handcrafted botanical medicine possible. To maintain the integrity and potency of our products we focus on using fresh herbs in small batches, crafted with our hands utilizing time tested traditional methods. We believe fresh herb tinctures are unique and potent whole plant medicines that extract the energetics, flavors, vibrant colors, medicinal constituents as well as the vital waters of the plants. Preserving not only the medicinal components of the herbs but also the vital essence of each plant. We strive to craft the majority of our tinctures, salves and hydrosols with fresh herbs that we cultivate on our micro-farm in beautiful Mount Shasta, California or that we harvest from locally abundant wild plants. This means the harvest window for fresh herbs at peak potency is short and when a product sells out it often isn’t available again until the next harvest window. The majority of the herbs in our products are grown on our small farm with organic methods and absolutely no chemical or synthetic fertilizers or pesticides are ever used. Herbs that we cannot grow or wild harvest are sourced from trusted growers.
About Our Tinctures
Herbal tinctures are a liquid solution of herbs and alcohol. The herbs in our Single Herb Tinctures are always harvested with respect and care at their peak seasonal potency and processed in small batches. Tinctures are produced with pharmaceutical grade organic cane spirits according to standard tincturing ratios. They are infused for one complete lunar cycle in glass jars and are then pressed and bottled.
Fresh herb tinctures are concentrated plant remedies that are better assimilated by the body than dried herbs and capsules. They should be used at their lowest effective dose. Suggested dose varies by extract. Consult individual labels for dosage. Tinctures should be taken in a small amount of water, or in hot water to evaporate off the alcohol. When stored in a cool dark place tinctures have a shelf life of five years.
We collect many species of wild herbs that are considered “invasive”, naturalized and native to the area. Herbs that are sourced from the wild are collected carefully from areas that we have studied and tended for many years. We strive to cultivate a deep understanding, connection and respect for these plant communities and knowledge of species and population dynamics. The health and extent of local populations of native medicinal plants is the highest priority and we only collect species that are abundant with intention on maintaining these stands for the future in robust health.
